Rules
-
Two players form a team, and each play a round of IS4 in D15.
- A player can restart once before attempting the Floor 3 Dreadful Foe. The restart cannot be performed during a node (i.e., must be on the node selection screen, not in a combat node, rogue trader, or encounter after selecting a combat option).
- Each player can independently choose to restart (e.g., player one gets to Floor 3, restarts, and finishes F3, then player two still has an option to restart).
- Players do not swap off and may not necessarily perform their disjoint runs on the same day. However, players are allowed to openly communicate with each other during their runs.
- Each player has 2 hours to complete a run. Upon reaching Floor 6/7 players are granted an additional 30 minutes (up to a total of 3 hours). Players’ in-game score will be multiplied by x0.5 if they go over the time limit (computed only at the end of the run according to the total time allotted).
- If a player reaches Floor 6, their in-game score will be multiplied by x1.1. If a player reaches Floor 7, then this multiplier is instead x1.2.
- Two players may choose the same starting squad.
- First-Class Squad is not allowed.
- Players may not prepare a squad using As Your Heart Desires. Players may choose this squad but only live, during the run.
- Players using Life-Prioritizing Squad may not prepare their Foldartals in advance.
- There are multiple different starting strategies allowed:
- Standard: You may prepare a Floor 3 bonus of either 2 Hope or Hot Water Kettle. When using a class squad, you may additionally prepare an E2 operator of choice. You must wait on the Operator selection screen.
- Love: You may not have a Floor 3 bonus. When using a class squad, you may additionally prepare an E2 operator of choice. You are allowed to prepare Love as your first foreseen foldartal (which will be obtained on F2). You must close the game on Clairvoyance (to avoid seeing Floor 1). This start is optional - both players may choose this start but it is not required that either player starts with Love.
- Two players cannot recruit the same six-star operator unless there is a temporary recruitment. If a player drafts a duplicate 6-star operator, their score will be -1000. If a player drafts a duplicate 6-star operator and brings them in a squad to a stage, their run will be disqualified with a final score of 0.
- Besides the initial recruitment, if a player temporarily recruits operators with 4 or higher star rarity, their score will be increased by 30.
- Players may withdraw up to 5 ingots from each Rogue Trader. For each Rogue Trader where you do not withdraw, your score will be instantly increased by 30. For each additional ingot withdrawn past 5, a player’s score will be -100 per additional ingot withdrawn.
- Complete the following emergency operations without losing any Life Points. The point bonus will be halved if a player completes the operation with leaks:
- No More Than Four: 30
- Payback: 60
- Crafty Beasts’ Nine-Caves: 80
- Shady Frozen Sea: 100
- Where Ice Condenses/Company Entanglement: 100
- Collapsals’ Afternoon: 120
- Requested Enemies Obtained/Musical Disaster: 150
- March of the Dead: 180
- Manmade Carnival: 200
- Terminus of Life: 200
- Other emergencies: 20x(normal stage floor #, cannot exceed 6)
- If an emergency operation is artificially created via Hunt or accessed within a Lost and Found node created by Doubt, the bonus points will be halved. If a naturally-occurring emergency operation is overwritten by these means, the emergency stage is still considered artificially created. Emergency operations within Bosky Passages created via Migrate are still considered natural.
- If an emergency operation appears earlier than its typical floor, the score is added for each floor earlier. For example, if on a Floor 2 bosky a player encounters emergency Collapsals’ Afternoon (typically F4), they will earn 360 points.
- Complete the following Dreadful Foes to earn points:
- Tree-Snatcher/Breathing/The Earth Wakes: 90
- Ice-Cold Image: 200
- Sami’s Entropy: 100
- Hollow Visage: 150
- Gardener: 120
- Sentinel: 360
- Sands of Time: 120
- Enter Eternity: 240
- Complete the following encounter stages without losing any Life Points to earn points. The bonus points will be halved for completing a stage with leaks:
- Rock and a Hard Place / Halfway On Khaganquest / Long-Sought Compensation: 80
- Penalty: 100
- Nameless Hero: 200
- F1/2/3 Long-Awaited Trial: 400/200/100
- F4/5 Nature’s Clause: 100/50
- Half-Baked Trip (MUST DEFEAT DOG): 20
- Money-making From Nothing (MUST DEFEAT DUCK): 60
- Luxurious Fleet (MUST DEFEAT BEAR): 90
- Envoy of Justice (MUST DEFEAT DOG+DUCK+BEAR): 200
- F1/2/3/4-6 Illusions in the Sand: 400/160/80/50
- Ancient Enemies: 50
- For each thorns chest and vinecreep chest defeated on F1 / 2-3 / 4-6, the player’s score will be increased by 20/30/40 points.
- For each Duck/Bear/Dog defeated, the player’s score will be increased by 20 points. This applies even to Duck/Bear/Dog encounter stages.
- If a player does not obtain any of the six Hunt/Migrate/Doubt/Rage/Love/Surprise Foldartals, their score will be increased by 150 points. This is determined via the player’s Foldartals on their end screen.
- The following bonuses can be achieved once by each team:
- Complete a Dreadful Foe node on Floor 7: 150
- Complete Illusions in the Sand on Floor 6: 100
- Complete all 4 Ending Dreadful Foes between both runs: 200
- Complete both Normal and Alter versions of the same Ending Dreadful Foe: 100
- Reach the maximum number of stacks on Roundstone Altar/Friston P./Minoan Ode: 200.
- Reach the maximum number of stacks on Roundstone Altar TWICE: sponsored trip to Disney World courtesy of the LTA team (up to $1,000).
Qualifiers
Players will complete a qualifier process as a team, following the same rules as the tournament (open communication, same scoring system, and same starts allowed). The live qualifier will be conducted within Discord. Unlike the tournament itself, qualifiers will be conducted with both players performing runs back to back. A team instantly qualifies if each player can complete at least one different ending. Otherwise, teams will still be considered qualitatively for the tournament, and will receive a potential confirmation by the end of the tournament.
Interested players should fill out a form to schedule a qualifier run
here.
Discord can be found
here.
We have a team-finding channel, as well as a tournament discussion channel if you have any questions!
Some examples of potential qualifier runs:
- Player 1 completes Ending 1 and Player 2 completes Ending 2. This instantly qualifies as each player completed an ending, and two different endings were completed (1 and 2).
- Player 1 completes Ending 1 + 3 and Player 2 completes Ending 1. This instantly qualifies as each player completed an ending, and two different endings were completed (1 and 3).
- Player 1 completes Ending 1 + 3 and Player 2 completes Ending 1 and dies attempting Ending 4. This instantly qualifies as each player completed an ending, and two different endings were completed (1 and 3).
- Player 1 completes Ending 1 and dies attempting Ending 3, and Player 2 completes Ending 2 and dies attempting Ending 3. This instantly qualifies as each player completed an ending, and two different endings were completed (1 and 2).
- Player 1 dies on Floor 5, and Player 2 completes Ending 2 + 3 + 4. This does not instantly qualify as Player 1 didn’t complete an ending, which doesn’t fulfill the “one ending each” requirement.
- Player 1 completes Ending 1 and Player 2 completes Ending 1. This does not instantly qualify as each player completed an ending, but only one unique ending was completed (1).
